Carlsberg has become a new co-sponsor of the Swiss national football team.
Feldschlösschen Beverages, which produces the brand for the Swiss market, has signed a four year contract with the Swiss Football Association. The co-operation will start on July 1, 2004.
In signing the contract, Feldschlösschen Beverages also had the forthcoming European Championships in mind, as Carlsberg is an official sponsor of both EURO 2004 in Portugal and EURO 2008 in Switzerland and Austria.
“Now Carlsberg is to be positioned as the football beer in Switzerland, too,” says Erwin Flückiger, CEO of Feldschlösschen.
In an initial step, the beer on sale and the perimeter advertising at the football grounds in Basle and Geneva has already changed from Feldschlösschen to Carlsberg. And Carlsberg also supports the first division teams of Basle, Servette (Geneva), Aarau and Thun.
