Managing director Sven G. Petersen, 63, resigns from the executive board of Carlsberg A/S on December 31 in order to retire. Sven G. Petersen has worked for the Carlsberg Group since 1963, and from 1981 to 1991 he was managing director of the Fredericia brewery, in Denmark.
Since 1991, Sven G. Petersen has been a member of Carlsberg A/S' executive board, most recently in charge of research, product development, quality control and international technical services and as chairman of Carlsberg's Research Council.
From January 1, 1999 the executive board of Carlsberg A/S will consist of president and group chief executive Flemming Lindeløv (chairman), group managing director Michael C Iuul and group managing director Walther Paulsen.
From January 1, senior vice president Svend Erik Albrethsen will have responsibility for Carlsberg's Technical World, which will include technological development (product development), the Central Research Laboratory (quality control) as well as international technical services. He will report to the executive board. Svend Erik Albrethsen, 57, Head Brewer, has an MSc in chemical engineering and has worked for Carlsberg since 1969.
Professor Klaus Bock was appointed as chairman of Carlsberg's Research Council on October 1 this year. Klaus Bock, 54, continues his functions at Carlsberg Laboratory and Carlsberg Research Centre and will report to the executive board. He has an MSc and Ph.D and has worked for Carlsberg since 1988.
